Maternity Services at Manning Base Hospital

Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to the Manning Base Hospital Birthing Service.

The Manning Base Hospital as part of the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) Service welcomes you and your family to our service.

We are committed to providing you and your family a quality service experience as you journey through pregnancy, birth and beginning parenthood. If your pregnancy is complicated or you go into labour before 34 weeks pregnant we may discuss with you the need to transfer to JHH.

HNELHD remains committed to Closing the Gap for Aboriginal members of the community. We welcome Aboriginal people from all communities.

We acknowledge and embrace the diversity of modern family structures. We welcome families from all cultural backgrounds and are committed to providing culturally appropriate and sensitive care.

Our focus for maternity care is to ensure that it is collaborative, where the woman and her family remain at the centre of the care experience and are actively involved in all decisions about their pregnancy, birth and after their baby is born. All decision making is based on relationships of mutual respect and trust.
