With opportunities to develop your skills, increase your knowledge and achieve professional growth, we provide an excellent environment for healthcare professionals to advance their careers.

HNE Simulation Centre

The HNE Simulation Centre delivers training to several thousand healthcare professionals each year and is one of the longest running simulation centres in Australia.

Our faculty are passionate about enhancing patient safety through simulation training and research and offer a wide range of training addressing clinical and non-clinical challenges, as well as instructor training and development programs.

HNET

The Hunter New England Mental Health Psychiatry Training Program (HNET) is the only regional based psychiatry training program in Australia and New Zealand.

It is a mid-sized program with sufficient trainees at each level to make progressing through the training requirements sustainable, but still retains its collegiate and 'personal touch' nature. HNET operates under the auspices of both the RANZCP and NSW HETI (Health Education and Training Institute).

Surgical Training Network

The Hunter New England Surgical Skills Training Network is part of the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD).

It aims to offer a comprehensive surgical education and training program for:

  • RACS SETs
  • Pre-SETs (Unaccredited Registrars and SRMOs)
  • PGY1s and PGY2s interested in pursuing surgical careers
