New Employees

Accepting your offer

After the Hiring Manager has offered you the position and negotiated a commencement date with you the Recruitment Team will generate your Offer of Employment.  When it is ready you will receive an email from the Recruitment System directing you to log in to view your Offer of Employment and Job Description.

Final Onboarding Tasks - Tax, Banking and Superannuation

After you have accepted your Offer of Employment you will have additional forms to complete in the Recruitment System including Taxation Form, Banking Details and Superannuation Selection.  Please be aware that these tasks can take approximately an hour to show up in the Recruitment System so please be patient. These tasks are critical to ensuring you are set up correctly to ensure you are paid on time but also link to the creation your IT access and email on ready for your first day.

You can select your own Superannuation fund, or chooseHNE Health's selected Supernanuation fund is First State Super.

Your Roster, Pay and How to Update Personal Details

HealthRoster

Employee Self Service (ESS) is used to view copy of your signed offer, leave accrual and history, update your personal details (banking details, tax, address, emergency contacts etc.) and to view documentation (payslips, income statement and payment summaries).

You Pay is paid fortnightly into your designated bank account(s) and is processed by HealthShare NSW.

StaffLink Employee Self Service (ESS) is your gateway to the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and iProcurement. See more information on StaffLink.

Programs and Processes

SSO (Single Sign on computer access) is an authentications scheme allowing HNE Health employees to log in with a single ID and password across all software systems, for ease of access and greater efficiency.

SARA (Search And Request Anything) is the one-stop shop for NSW Health employees when it comes to IT, payroll, leave requests, recruitment, finance, purchasing and warehousing services and support. SARA is cloud-based and so can be accessed by HNE Health employees outside of work hours. See more information on SARA on the eHealth website.

Microsoft Outlook, Skype and Microsoft Teams

Access webmail using Microsoft Outlook online. HNE Health believes in efficient communication, therefore we use Skype and Teams for communication purposes.

Recruitment and Onboarding

The Recruitment and Onboarding (ROB) system brings together all the administrative tasks associated with requesting, advertising, approving and filling vacant positions.

MyHealth Learning

MyHealth Learning is the state-wide learning management system that delivers and tracks learning and training for NSW Health employees. For more information visit MyHealth Learning on the eHealth website.

Uniform

NSW Health has a state-wide uniform policy to provide you with practical and functional uniforms in a variety of styles. Each work stream – such as medical, nursing and midwifery, allied health or oral health, have their own individual colours, helping patients to easily identify members of their care team.

Orientation

If you are a new NSW Health employee, or an ex-employee returning after a break of more than 2 years, you may be subject to a probation period of 3 months when you commence with HNE Health.

There are exceptions to this depending on the role being accepted; if probation applies to you, you will find a probation clause in your letter of offer.

Managers and employees both have responsibilites as part of the probation period process; therefore, it is important that you discuss the probation period process with your manager upon commencement to ensure you understand your responsibilities.
