Interpreter Provision in Public Hospitals - Community Information

Health care interpreters in the Hunter New England Local Health District help our staff, patients and carers understand each other.

Interpreters are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in 120 languages, including AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language). Interpreters can be provided in person, on the telephone or via video conferencing. This is a free and confidential service. You do not have to have a Medicare Card to access an interpreter.
