Location

The Maitland Hospital is located at 51 Metford Rd, Metford, 2323.

• Car

From Newcastle:

Travel along the A43 (New England Highway)  towards Maitland.

Turn right at Chelmsford Drive in East Maitland.

From Chelmsford Dr turn left into Metford Road. On Metford road, at roundabout take the 3rd exit to access the hospital site.

From Rutherford:

Travel along the A43 (New England Highway) towards Newcastle.

Turn left at Chelmsford Drive in East Maitland.

From Chelmsford Dr turn left into Metford Road. On Metford road, at roundabout take the 3rd exit to access the hospital site.

• Public transport

Train: The closest train station is Victoria Street Station on the Hunter line.

Bus: The bus stop can be found near the Main entrance.

• Follow the signs to the main entrance, approximately a 2 minute walk.
• To reach the Emergency department go past the main entrance and walk to the Emergency department

Taxi: There are 3 taxi drop off and pick up locations (see on map)

• Outside the Emergency department entrance,
• Outside the main entrance and
• Outside the entry to the Outpatient clinics.

Drop off zone: There are 3 patient drop off and pick up locations (see on map)

• Outside the Emergency department entrance,
• Outside the main entrance and
• Outside the entry to the Outpatient clinics.
• There is bench seating available for patients/visitors to wait on at each drop off zone.

Visitor parking

There are two options for parking – P1 Short stay visitor parking ( Emergency department access) or P3 Visitor and staff parking all day parking.

Consider utilising drop off zones before parking for people with limited mobility.

P1 Short stay visitor parking

Parking for Emergency Department access and for people with an accessible parking permit.

• Enter hospital at roundabout on Metford Rd.
• Take the 3rd exit at the roundabout, proceed straight ahead and
• Follow the signs to Short stay parking.

There are 8 accessible parking spaces in this carpark.

Parking charges:

• Free of charge for 2 hours.
• If parking is needed for more than 2 hours please speak to the staff at the information desk at the Main Entrance or Emergency department staff.
• Longer stay parking is P3 which is shared visitor and staff car parking (look for the solar panels).

The Emergency Department Entrance is approximately a 50 metre walk from this carpark.

The Main Entrance is approximately a 30 metre walk from this carpark.

P3 Visitor and staff parking

P2 Staff Parking

• P2 is an after hours staff parking area and restricted to permit holders.
• Fines will apply to anyone parking in this area without a permit.

P3 Visitor and Staff Parking

• Enter the hospital at roundabout on Metford Rd
• Take the 1st exit at the roundabout and turn right at the end of the road
• Follow the signs to enter the carpark

There are 6 accessible parking spaces in this carpark.

P5 Staff and Fleet Cars Only

• Enter the hospital at roundabout on Metford Road
• Travel through two roundabouts and take the entrance to P5

Pay and Display parking:

• Purchase a parking ticket to display on your windscreen
• There are parking ticket machines provided in the carpark.
• Cost of parking is $4 per day.

If carpark is full:

• Parking is permitted in the surrounding streets, check signs for restrictions.
• Consider utilising drop off zones for people with limited mobility.
• Please follow the footpath to the hospital Main Entrance.

Motorbike parking: Available in both P1 and P3 parking areas.

Bicycle parking:  Available in P1 short stay visitor parking

Concession rate parking

Concession rate parking is available for holders of valid (Pension Concession Cards, Health Care Cards) and Disability Parking Permits.

• The Main Entrance is the entrance for visitors to the hospital.
• It is a 50 metre walk from P1 carpark and a 150 metre walk  from P3 carpark to the Main Entrance.
• See the information desk in the foyer for Concession information.

• View the directory board to your left as you walk in the Main Entrance for directions and service listings.

• The information desk is at the Main Entrance.
• You can ask for directions or general assistance.
• The Information desk is open
  • Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 6:00pm and
  • Saturday and Sundays 8:00am - 4.00pm

• The Directory Board can be found on your left as you walk into the Main Entrance.
• It has directions and lists services.

• Look for the volunteers to  help you with getting to where you want to go.
• They can be found at the Main Entrance.
