Denman

Denman is situated on the Golden Highway a welcoming community presenting the true charm of days gone by. Featuring historical buildings and being nestled between the Wollemi and Goulburn National Parks, this growing town has all you could wish for with stunning views, fine food, outstanding wines and friendly people. The views are courtesy of Wollemi National Park and Goulburn River National Park. There are two primary schools in Denman where the main industries are viticulture, horse breading and farming. Denman also hosts a variety of housing options, child care centres, places of worship and transport options to major cities making living in Denman convenient and enjoyable.

Denman Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) has 11 aged care beds, six acute care beds and two emergency care beds. On site a private general medical practice is also available. Regular weekly Allied Health services provided from the MPS through the Upper Hunter Cluster Community Health based at Muswellbrook Hospital campus are speech pathology, physiotherapy, and child and family health. Other services can be provided on request, e.g. social work, occupational therapy etc.

Merriwa

Merriwa is located in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley. A two hour drive from Newcastle, Tamworth, Dubbo and Mudgee. Located on the Golden Highway within close proximity to Scone, it is the perfect place to breath in the fresh country air. The population of just under two thousand live in a rich pastoral area breeding sheep, cattle and growing wheat. The Goulburn River National Park provides opportunities to enjoy bushwalking, fossicking, camping and over 250 cultural material sites displaying a historical background into the area. With a proactive council supporting the community there are numerous community activities. Sporting is high on the list with both adults and children catered for across most codes of group sports, personal trainers and camp drafting for those with a love of horses. School options are also a plenty, both within the local area and in nearby Scone. Affordable housing, and the prospect of this being within the town or located in your own slice of the country, the lifestyle options are many.

Merriwa MPS is a twenty three bed facility providing coverage in general medical, emergency and aged care. You would be required to provide care across the fifteen residential aged care patients, eight sub-acute beds and two dedicated ED beds.

Community Health Service provides care in child, women's and family health, audiometry, foot care, dementia and palliative care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietetics, social work, child protection, sexual assault, Aboriginal health and mental ill health.

Murrurundi

Murrurundi, in the Upper Hunter, is surrounded by the Liverpool Ranges on the banks of the Pages River. An hour from Tamworth, half an hour from Scone, 2.5 hours from Newcastle and less than four hours from Sydney it offers affordable town and country living options available with train link to Tamworth and Sydney daily. Historic houses and public buildings adorn the small town of a thousand people, with the National Trust declaring the main street a preservation area. Murrurundi showcases sporting and entertainment pursuits with dog trials, rodeos and camp draft competitions. There is a preschool and primary school with access to high schools half an hour away with transport available.

Wilson Memorial Hospital is an 18 bed hospital with one bed dedicated to ED and offers services in emergency, acute medical and aged care. This role will provide you with the opportunity to care for patients from the time they arrive until they leave – hands on nursing at its best! The strong team at the hospital are very supportive and describe their roles as busy and satisfying.

Muswellbrook

Muswellbrook is surrounded by vineyards and horse studs. Straddling the Hunter River it is home to the Wollemi National Park – part of the largest wilderness area in NSW – where the exploration options are endless with scenic canyons, towering cliffs, wild rivers and serene forests. Muswellbrook has an active community and suits those who want quality social lives while taking life at a more enjoyable pace and enjoy locally produced wines, olive oils and cheeses. Sports are well catered for with tennis, golf, skate parks, aquatic centres and a large range of seasonal team sports.  The population of eleven and a half thousand have the choice of a preschool, four primary schools and a high school. There is also a variety of housing options, places of worship and restaurants within the local area and a range of transport options for those who wish to visit nearby towns or major cities.

Muswellbrook Hospital is a forty six bed facility providing ED, general medical surgical, maternity, perioperative and outpatient services as well as renal dialysis and Chemotherapy Day treatment. A role in this facility will build on your hands on skills as you care for patients from the time they arrive until they leave.

Scone

Located in the Upper Hunter Valley, a three hour drive from Sydney, Scone is the horse capital of Australia. Nestled in the picturesque valley bordered by the Goulburn River National Parks, Barrington Tops National Parks and Lake Glenbawn State Park Scone is the ideal place to lead a more relaxed lifestyle. A farming district with a population of five and half thousand it is a great place to raise a family and enjoy the welcoming friendliness of the community. Affordability of housing in Scone is available along with two high schools and three primary schools. There is also a range of dining options, child care services, places of worship and art and cultural activities to meet the needs of the whole family.

The twenty four hour emergency department is the heart of the forty eight bed hospital which also offers services in surgical, medical, obstetric, paediatrics, antenatal and palliative care and orthopaedics. With the community being supported through antenatal clinics, paediatrics, palliative care, radiology, acute and aged related care including rehabilitation.

Singleton

Singleton is the largest town in the Upper Hunter and two hours' drive from Sydney. The major industries include coal mining, electricity generation, horse breeding, vineyards, cattle production and an army barracks. Singleton boasts historically stunning architecture, one of the world's largest sun dials and national parks to the north and south of the town perfect for bushwalking. Lake St Claire is perfect for a swim or fish and other sports catered for include cricket, tennis, netball, rugby, soccer, league, golf and lawn bowls. Food and wine options are plentiful within a thirty minute radius as are schools and child care with public and private options to choose from catering for the population of 25,000. For potential residents of Singleton there are many affordable housing options and places of worship that appeal to everyone.

The seventy bed hospital offers services being offered involve surgical, emergency, obstetric, paediatrics, renal dialysis, palliative care, community nursing and allied health set in country style gardens and grounds.
