As part of a collaboration between the PHN's HealthPathways Team, BPAC and Hunter New England Local Health District we are developing an electronic referral system known as SeNT.
SeNT allows GPs to send secure electronic referrals to both public, and consenting private, specialists and allied health providers. This system uniquely integrates structured HealthPathways and specialist required pre-requisites with GP clinical software. SeNT is set to benefit patients through streamlining the referral link between GP – specialist, providing issue based referrals that contain enhanced data quality and enable early urgency triaging based on agreed HealthPathways.
The SeNT system went LIVE on the 14th June 2016 in Medical Director and Best Practice. It is currently being rolled out across the Greater Newcastle region with planned future expansion into New England, Hunter and Central Coast regions.
