The Calvary Mater Newcastle is owned by the Little Company of Mary Health Care and has an agreement with Hunter New England Health to provide a comprehensive range of services, including:

This facility is the Hunter region's major centre for oncology (cancer) services, which include haematology, breast cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment and melanoma prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Hours of operation 
Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Normal business hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm weekdays.

Visiting hours
General wards and intensive care: 11am - 8pm. Patient rest period 1pm - 3pm

Coronary care unit: 10am - 8pm. Patient rest period 12pm - 3pm

Mercy Hospice: Unrestricted visiting hours

Special arrangement for visiting at other times can be made where appropriate. Please talk with the nurse in charge.

Parking
There are a number of parking areas available via the Lorna Street, Villa Road and Platt Street entrances. Some areas have a fee charged to access the boom gates, and other areas have restricted parking.

Disabled access
There is disabled parking available and automatic door entry through the Emergency Department.

Relatives' accommodation
McAuley Lodge offers single and shared-room accommodation for relatives and friends of hospital inpatients and for rural or remote patients and their support persons attending outpatient clinics. Limited motel-type accommodation is also available at the Villa Units for patients from rural or remote areas receiving oncology treatment and their support persons. An affordable accommodation fee is charged.

Auxiliary services and volunteers
The Calvary Mater Hospital's volunteer service is made up of caring people from the community who give generously of their time and talents to make a special contribution to patient care and comfort. The green name badges easily identify all volunteers.
