There is a busy Emergency Department, and a coronary care/high dependency unit. Mental health, dental and renal services are provided on-site, as well as diagnostic services. Other outpatient and community-based services include pre-admission and antenatal clinics, palliative care nursing and the post acute community care service (PACC), which provides care in the home, as opposed to care in the hospital setting, for suitable patients.

Hours of operation
The Maitland Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Normal business hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm weekdays.

Visiting hours
General ward areas permit visiting between 11:00am to 1:00pm and 3:00pm to 7:30pm. Rest period is from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. However, these times are flexible and visitors are asked to contact the hospital for details of visiting hours for specific wards prior to arrival. Specialist areas impose necessary limitations on times, frequency and numbers of visitors. The hospital encourages visitors to be sensitive to patients' needs and keep noise to a minimum.

Parking
Parking is provided directly opposite the hospital (across the road off Bonar Street), and there is a fee. Frequent visitors may request a parking "card" from reception or staff on the ward. In return for a deposit, refundable on return of the card, visitors of long-term (more than five days) patients may park for free. There is opportunity to park for a short time (15 minutes), to drop off or pick up passengers, at the front and side entrances of the hospital.

Disabled access
There is disabled parking available in the main hospital car park and at the front and side entrances. Access is easily enabled through automatic doors at the front and side entrances.
