Hours of operation
John Hunter Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Normal business hours are 8.30am - 5.00pm weekdays. The hospital has implemented a 'total lockdown' strategy to control entry and exit from the hospital, between 9pm and 5.30am.

Visiting hours
Visiting hours in maternity wards are 3.00pm - 8.00pm. Some wards are closed to visitors during the 1.00pm - 3.00pm rest period. Please contact the Information Desk by telephoning 4921 3626 for details of visiting hours for a specific ward as they vary from ward to ward in the hospital.

Hospital lockdown takes place every evening at 9.00pm. After-hours visitors to ward areas will be required to sign a visitors pass at the security desk which they must carry and present if asked by a member of staff.

Parking
Car parking on the campus is managed by Interpark. Please note that timed parking is in place on the Rankin Park campus, given the high demand for parking at this site.

For your convenience, Hunter New England Health operates a free off-site parking and shuttle bus service at Energy Australia Stadium as an option for outpatients and visitors. The service operates between 9.00am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and the bus completes one round trip every 40 minutes. More information about parking, including the full bus timetable and hourly parking rates is available at http://www.hnehealth.nsw.gov.au/parking  or by phoning InterPark on (02) 4921 4715.
