Health projects, dedicated staff rewarded
8 September 2008
Hunter New England Health will recognise some of its most innovative and committed staff this week at its 2008 Achievement Awards dinner.
The dinner is held each year to celebrate many of the projects and people who are improving patient care across our health service.
This year, the awards dinner will be held on Thursday 11 September in Taree.
At the dinner, the winners of the Quality Awards and the Staff Achievement Awards will be announced.
The Quality Awards recognise the excellent work of HNE Health staff in increasing the standards of health improvement and patient care through continually improving service delivery.
The Staff Achievement Awards encourage and reward outstanding performance and are open to all individuals and teams from across the Area. These awards are a celebration of the exceptional contribution health service staff have made in their roles and to their communities.
This year the competition was very strong, with more than 63 Quality Award entries received and about 90 entries received for the 2008 Achievement Awards.
Hunter New England Health Chief Executive Dr Nigel Lyons congratulated all finalists for their outstanding contributions to improving health services.
“My congratulations go to all of the finalists for the commitment they have shown to their roles and to their innovative projects,” Dr Lyons said.
