Remodelling for radiology

The radiology department at Narrabri District Health Service has recently been remodelled to provide a safer environment for patients and staff.

The redevelopment, which has been funded by Hunter New England Health, has addressed issues of patient comfort and the staff working environment.

As part of the redesign, a new reception window has been installed in the patient waiting area which will improve light flow and line of sight for administrative staff.

Hunter New England Imaging Chief Radiographer Jenna Bailey said the remodelling of the office area had significantly improved the work environment.

"These changes provide improved access and safety for our patients and an improved work space for staff who now have a larger work area.

“In addition, we also now have the benefit of natural lighting in the administration area in radiology.

“We are delighted with the changes and I'm sure our patients will appreciate the improvements also,” Ms Bailey said.
