Thanks to Bulahdelah Auxiliary – ordinary people doing extrardinary things
Bulahdelah Community Hospital would like to thank the hard working volunteers of the hospital auxiliary for their generous support.
According to Bulahdelah Community Hospital Health Service Manager Paul Townsend the auxiliary has donated more than $12,000 worth of equipment to the hospital last year alone. This included two syringe drivers ($4,200), verandah blinds ($4,500), magnifying light ($360) and an electric bed ($3,300).
“The exceptional work that the hospital auxiliary do that makes our patients’ stay a little more comfortable is remarkable,” Mr Townsend said.
“The support from the local Bulahdelah community is nothing short of marvellous,” he said.
This year’s wish list is a new Portable Binocular Microscope and an upgrade of the blood testing machine for the hospital.
The auxiliary is working hard to raise the funds for these pieces of equipment for the hospital.
The auxiliary holds a street stall on the fourth Saturday of the month and the next one will be on Saturday the 25 July. Any donations of baked goods, jam or plants would be appreciated.
September looks like being the biggest fundraising month for the hospital with raft of activities planned.
On 4 September is the Father’s Day Raffle. Tickets are available at the hospital. While on 5 September a Masquerade Ball and Auction is being held at Bulahdelah Golf Club to raise funds for the hospital. Tickets are $25pp and are available by telephoning the golf club.
On 13 September is the Open Garden Day. Mariah Rhodes-White of ‘Merriwonga’ on Ferny Creek Road, Wootton is kindly opening her lovely garden to the public 10am to 4pm in support of the hospital auxiliary. Morning tea will be available as well as a plant stall and raffle.
And finally on 26 September is the auxiliary’s monthly street stall in front of the butcher’s shop, Bulahdelah.
