More buses for off-site parking service
Last week, Hunter New England Health extended the operating hours of its off-site parking service at Energy Australia Stadium, and increased the frequency of shuttle buses running between the stadium and the Rankin Park Campus.
Members of the public attending appointments or visiting people in any of the hospitals on the Rankin Park Campus, have the option of parking their car at Energy Australia Stadium and taking advantage of a free shuttle bus service to the hospital.
The off-site parking service started as a three month trial in September 2007 and it is still operating.
Acting Director Corporate Services Mark Jeffrey said the extended operating hours and improved timetable have been implemented to give people more flexibility and further increase patronage.
“The free shuttle bus service now operates between 9.00am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and buses complete one round-trip every 40 minutes,” Mr Jeffrey said.
“We’ve received some very positive feedback from the public and we have high hopes that people will continue to take advantage of the free service.
“As well as saving money in car parking fees, people say they enjoy the convenience of being dropped off right at the front door of the hospital.”
A parking attendant is on-site at Energy Australia Stadium throughout the day to maintain the security of vehicles and provide assistance to people using the off-site parking service.
The off-site parking and shuttle bus service does not operate on weekends or public holidays.
