High profile speaker, Roger Snaith, back in Glen Innes
28 February 2008 Year 11 and 12 students from Glen Innes High, and their parents will have the opportunity to hear guest speaker Roger Snaith discuss the dangers facing teenage drivers on Friday 14 March. Roger is a representative from the Sydney based group ‘Enough is Enough’ and will talk to the group about responsible driving, drawing on his personal experience of his own 17 year old daughter, who was killed by a drunk and drugged driver. Mr Snaith co-founded the group ‘Enough is Enough’ which deals with assisting and educating victims and offenders of road trauma. Roger Snaith spoke to students in years 10, 11 and 12 at the Glen Innes RSL last year and was hailed a great success. Primary Health Care Nurses Kirsty MacDougall and Kylie Duddy are coordinating the event, and said they were looking forward to hearing the follow-up presentation. "We are very fortunate to have Roger Snaith coming back to Glen Innes. "We have had had some recent tragic events of our own that have impacted the whole community, and I think a lot of families will be able to identify with what he has to say," Kirsty said. Roger Snaith will be also be speaking to school students in Inverell, Warialda, Bingara and Wee Waa earlier in the week. "We are strongly encouraging parents to attend the talk this year as well," Kristy said. The Year 11 session will be held at 9.30am and Year 12 at 1.30pm at Glen Innes High School.
