Hunterbald launch stars a famous face
Love will be in the air at the launch of Hunterbald, John Hunter Hospital’s annual art exhibition, which this year has attracted a famous face.
Australian singer John Paul Young will be a special guest at the exhibition this year.
Mr Young was invited by local artist and John Hunter Hospital volunteer Dudley Lewis, who has recently completed a portrait of the Australian singer.
The Hunterbald exhibition highlights the creativity of John Hunter Hospital staff and volunteers with works displayed in the main corridor of the hospital.
Arts for Health Coordinator at John Hunter Hospital Juliet Ackery is looking forward to promoting the creativity and originality of the works on display.
“Hunterbald is a great opportunity for all members of the John Hunter community to come together and be creative,” Ms Ackery said.
“I’m very pleased to have our special guest, John Paul Young attending who will certainly make this event more enjoyable.”
Volunteer pianist Greg Markham will also perform a musical composition, written especially for John Hunter Hospital.
“Mr Markham is an excellent pianist and has written a piece of music to celebrate 20 years of John Hunter,” Ms Ackery said.
The Hunterbald Exhibition will open on Thursday 1 September 2011 at 3pm.
