New Acting Manager For Inverell DIistrict Health Service
Monday 24 January 2011
Hunter New England Health has welcomed the appointment of Matthew Krug as Acting Manager of Inverell District Health Service.
Matthew started the role on 10 January. He will fulfil the Health Service Manager (HSM) position while Kath Randall is on maternity leave.
General Manager of McIntyre Cluster, Maree Bacigalupo, said Matthew was an experienced health professional with a proven track record in management, as well as hands-on clinical work.
“Matthew brings with him plenty of energy, experience and enthusiasm which will further enhance the strength of service delivery in Inverell,” Ms Bacigalupo said.
“I would like to take this opportunity firstly to congratulate Matthew on his appointment, and secondly to thank Kath for her hard work and to wish her all the best with the birth of her baby.”
Just prior to accepting the Inverell role, Matthew had been working with the Hunter New England Area Performance and Planning Unit.
He also recently completed the two-year Graduate Health Management Program, coordinated by the NSW Branch of the Australian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).
In the past few years Matthew has worked in Armidale in a number of Nursing Unit Manager positions, doing project work for both Armidale and Tamworth health services. He also worked in relieving management positions at Glen Innes and Emmaville health services.
Matthew said he was keen not only to work alongside the dedicated staff at Inverell Hospital, but to also get to know the local community.
“I am excited about taking on the role of Acting HSM at Inverell while Kath is on leave, and I’m looking forward to being available to Inverell residents and to talk to them about what they believe is working well at the health service and how we can do things better,” Matthew said.
A photo of Matthew is available on request.
