Taree health committee seeks representatives

If you live in the Taree district and you have an interest in health, apply to become a member of the Manning Hospital Local Advisory Committee (LAC).
The committee is currently seeking four (4) new community members for the volunteer positions, including one youth member (high school age) and an Aboriginal community member to represent the needs of Aboriginal people living in the Taree area.
Local Advisory Committees are a conduit between the health service and the community. Their role is to keep the community informed about their local health facility and promote healthy communities by linking local people with available health services.
Applications are welcome from people with a range of skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Active interests in health issues affecting the local community
• Strong community links and commitment
• Qualifications and/or experience in management
• Professional qualifications
Manning Hospital Acting General Manager Roz Everingham said the Manning Local Advisory Committee has the important role of maintaining strong links between Manning Hospital and the community.
“People of all ages are eligible to apply, particularly those with a wide network of local connections and knowledge that can help us foster two-way communication between the health service and the community,” Ms Everingham said.
“If you have an interest in health and are keen to become involved, then we invite you to apply for membership on this committee.”
