Temporary changes to the Narrabri Radiology Department

Works on the $41.7 million Narrabri District Health Service Redevelopment are progressing well, with radiology equipment to be transferred to the new facility from Monday 14 November.

To enable the relocation of the radiology equipment to the new facility there will be some temporary changes to the availability of this equipment.

• OPG X-ray services will be unavailable from Thursday 24 November 2011 until Monday 28 November 2011.
During this time all OPG X-rays can be performed at Moree Hospital, Tamworth Base Hospital and Castlereagh Radiology Tamworth

• The General X-ray Machine will be unavailable from Monday 28 November 2011 until Wednesday 7 December 2011.
During this time routine general x-rays can be performed at Moree District Hospital, Gunnedah District Hospital (ph:6741 8025) and Wee Waa Hospital (ph: 6795 0400).

The Radiology Staff at Narrabri Hospital will continue to be available to assist with enquiries during this period.

Narrabri Health Service Manager Sharon Simpson said arrangements will be made by medical staff for inpatients and emergency department patients to undergo any radiology exams.

“Our staff will work to ensure these changes do not impact on the level of care provided to our patients,” Ms Simpson said.

“If you require routine radiology services at one of the alternative radiology departments please contact them directly to make an appointment.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause the local community and thank them for their continued support while we build them the new and greatly improved facility.”
