What's cooking at Narrabri?

Narrabri District Health Service staff are pleased to announce the latest inclusion to the hospital - a brand new kitchen.

Installed over the last month, the new kitchen is an exciting development to the site, which is due to be complete in early 2012.

Kate Winston-Smith, Transition Manager for Narrabri District Health Service, is excited that yet another section of the redeveloped hospital is near completion.

“The new kitchen is just another feature of the redevelopment that all staff are looking forward to utilising,” Ms Winston-Smith said.

“Besides containing the latest cooking facilities, the new kitchen also has specialised entry and exit doors, which will make the delivery and return of meals trays and upkeep of hygiene standards more efficient.”

Along with the new cooking facilities, maintenance and gardening staff at Narrabri are working on landscaping around the site.

“It’s great to see that we’re getting down to  the final stages of the redevelopment, making sure that the hospital grounds are pleasing to the eye as well as safe,” Ms Winston-Smith said.

Over the next month, painting, flooring and installation of medical gasses and electricity will continue.

The $41.7 million Narrabri District Health Service Redevelopment project is a partnership between the Commonwealth and the NSW Government and is expected to be completed by early 2012.
