Construction of Werris Creek MPS to commence in June
Construction of the new Werris Creek Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) will commence soon, now that National Buildplan has been appointed to build the facility.
Health Service Manager Werris Creek Hospital Kylie Marquart said she was pleased to be able to share with the Werris Creek community that construction of the new Multi-Purpose Service would soon be underway.
The Werris Creek MPS is a partnership between the Federal and State Governments with a total project value of $11.2 million.
“This is fantastic news for the Werris Creek community,” Ms Marquart said.
“I’m very pleased to announce that construction is expected to begin by early June this year and the project is should be complete by mid 2012,” she said.
The initial stages of the project will include construction of a site perimeter fence and relocation of the access road and parking to the current facility.
Although there will be changes in access to the current facility during construction, all health services will be provided as normal.
“I’m proud of the way the local staff and community members have come together to ensure this project was designed with the needs of the Werris Creek community in mind,” Ms Marquart said.
“This facility will be an outstanding asset to Werris Creek and will ensure that quality healthcare is available for the community now and into the future.
“It will be a tribute to the hard work and diligence of many local people and I am looking forward to seeing the projection on completion.”
