All the cool things are in at Narrabri
Kitchens, fridges and cool rooms are the hot favourite at the Narrabri District Health Service redevelopment this month, with installation continuing after a busy February.
With the Narrabri District Health Service redevelopment starting to take shape, staff are excited about what the future holds for health in Narrabri.
Health Service Manager for Narrabri District Health Service, Sharon Simpson says staff are looking forward to seeing more of the new building.
“Staff are thrilled at the tangible changes we are now seeing at the site of the new Narrabri District Health Service with the addition of new cool rooms and kitchens making a dramatic change,” Ms Simpson said.
“Some staff have toured the construction site and can now see where their clinical or office space will be. They are excited about how the new spaces will benefit the people of Narrabri.”
During February, canopies were erected to the mortuary, kitchen, service and main entry of the new facility. The contractors will be installing windows, doors and wall sheeting in the near future.
“The kiosk and diagnostic areas of the facility look fantastic at present. We can now see the shape the facility will be in on completion,” Ms Simpson said.
Technical Assistant for Pathology at Narrabri District Health Service, Kim Summers is looking forward to moving into the new building, to provide easier access for patients.
“The best part of the new facility is that all manner of staff will be in the same area, providing an almost linear path of quality health care,” Ms Summers said.
The $41.7 million Narrabri District Health Service Redevelopment project is a partnership between the Commonwealth and the NSW Government and is expected to be completed by early 2012.
