Additional services for HealthOne Raymond Terrace
Hunter New England Local Health Network is pleased to announce that two additional community health services will be included in the HealthOne Raymond Terrace development.
Public dental services and pathology will now be included in the wide range of services to be offered at the new facility.
When complete, the facility will provide locals with a one-stop shop for primary and community health care.
It will bring services such as GPs, community nursing and allied health, aged care, child and family health, mental health, and drug and alcohol together under one roof.
Clinical Integration Coordinator Jonathan Holt said the HealthOne facility will really benefit residents in the Raymond Terrace area.
“The facility will provide residents with better access to high quality healthcare, close to their homes,” Mr Holt said.
“The result will be a fully integrated ‘one stop shop’ where residents can access a wide range of community and preventative healthcare services, in one convenient location.”
The new facility also has the capacity to expand to meet the health care needs of the community in the future.
“Enough land has been purchased by Hunter New England Local Health Network to ensure there is capacity to expand the range of services available in the future,” Mr Holt said.
“We know the healthcare needs of the community are going to change over time, and we have purchased this land to ensure the facility can meet the health needs of the community well into the future.”
Additional services that would be considered for future expansion include rehabilitation and treatment clinics, enhanced aged and chronic care, additional GP services and visiting specialist services.
The construction of phase one of the HealthOne facility is expected to begin mid-2011 pending council approvals.
