Join us to celebrate our Carers at Narrabri

Hunter New England Health invites members of the Narrabri community to come together and celebrate the exceptional work of Carers on Friday 29 October at 3pm in the Christian Fellowship Church (old West Rollerdrome).

The Narrabri Carer’s Celebration is a chance for members of the community to sincerely thank Carers for their tireless efforts. It is hoped that Carers will enjoy the short, entertaining service hosted by Narrabri Community Health, which involves Mayor Robyn Faber and Pastor Peter Westman. In addition, guest speaker Marion Pyke will speak about her role as a Carer and how it has led to The Abbeyfield initiative.

The celebration is also a chance for Carers to meet face to face with service providers and to gather new resources.

Narrabri Community Health staff want to encourage members of the community to think about whether they may be a Carer.

“Often people will not identify themselves as a Carer because the term Carer may imply a relationship of obligation,” Diversional Therapist for Narrabri Community Health Centre Amanda Whan said.

“Situations in caring for others vary by level of assistance, from transport to full assistance with daily living, and we would like to acknowledge the contribution of all Carers.”

A wider invitation is extended to all interested community members to attend the service and stay for the refreshments to follow.

To RSVP or to find out more information, please contact Amanda Whan or Karin Woods at Narrabri Community Health on (02) 6799 2000.
