Exciting site to see - Twelve months progress at Narrabri District Health Service

With December quickly approaching, progress on Narrabri District Health Service’s Redevelopment is on target with a number of changes taking place on site.
Narrabri District Health Service Manager Sharon Simpson said staff were pleased with the progress to date.
“The site’s redevelopment is really starting to come to fruition now. We’re seeing massive changes occur on the site every month and are able to witness the future improvements to our Health Service on a daily basis,” Ms Simpson said.
Structural steel framing is nearly complete with construction teams currently working on the Radiology and Pathology sections of the new service. Concrete topping will also be completed in all plant rooms by the beginning of December and kerbing and guttering will commence this month.
Storm water upgrades have also been added to the South East corner of the site.
Richard Crookes Construction will continue to erect light framing and roof sheeting over the coming months. Following this, installation of windows will commence as framing continues. The builders have started to install wall linings and this will continue to progress as sections of the various buildings are made water tight.
“Staff continue to be incredibly excited by the prospect of a completed District Health Service. All staff are looking forward to all services being provided for under one roof,” Ms Simpson said.
Long standing and highly respected Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) Dr Kerry Moroney recently visited the site and was amazed by the progress of the new District Health Service.
“It’s very impressive and I can’t wait to work in the new building,” said Dr Moroney.
The $41.7 million Narrabri District Health Service Redevelopment project is a partnership between the Commonwealth and the NSW Government.
