Carer information sessions at Maitland
Do you look after or provide care or support to another person who has a disability; chronic illness; drug or alcohol related condition; mental health issues; or someone who is frail aged?
If this sounds like you, you might be interested in attending two free carer information sessions at Maitland Town Hall, High Street, Maitland. These sessions have been arranged ‘out of hours’ to allow busy and working carers to attend.
Session One will be held Tuesday 12 October from 6pm – 9pm and will include information on the available community resources including Commonwealth Carelink and Respite Service, Maitland Community Health Centre and Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC). A portion of the session will also be dedicated to ‘Caring for the Carer,’ where carers can learn how to best take care of themselves while caring for another.

ession Two will be held on Tuesday 19 October from 6pm – 9pm and will include presentations on financial issues by Centrelink and information on Advanced Care Planning.
“Carer Information Sessions, organised by EDuCARE Support Service, provide a one-stop shop for Carers. Whether you’re new to caring for another person or have been a carer for years, these information sessions are a great way to learn about the resources available to you and to meet other carers,” Carer Support Coordinator for EDuCARE Support Service, Katrin Gustafson said.
The carer information sessions will be held at Maitland Town Hall, Heritage Room, 279-287 High Street, Maitland on the following dates:
• Tuesday 12 October from 6pm to 9pm (supper provided)
• Tuesday 19 October from 6pm to 9pm (supper provided)
