Christmas comes early for Carers
Are you a Carer who feels like starting the Christmas cheer a little early this year? If so, come along to the Christmas Workshop for Carers, hosted by Hunter New England Health’s EDuCARE Support Service.
The workshop will give Carers the opportunity to catch up with other Carers and receive relevant education and access to resources. And the day isn’t just about the serious stuff, with Ruby the Clown stopping by for the enjoyment of the young at heart.
If relaxation is more what you’re looking for when approaching the busy festive season, then you will enjoy a Tai Chi demonstration on the day and relax and restore yourself with morning tea, lunch and some carols to sing along to.
“Our Christmas Workshop for Carers is all about enjoyment and relaxation in an educational atmosphere. EDuCARE strive to always provide Carers in our community with networking & education opportunities where they can let their hair down and enjoy some respite,” Manager of EDuCARE Support Service Rose Blue said.
“Not only will Carers have the chance to mingle with each other, but they will also be able to receive the best information and resources about their caring duties in a safe and friendly environment,” Ms Blue said.
The Christmas Workshop for Carers is being held on Thursday 9 December 2010 in the Quarterdeck Room at the Belmont 16ft Sailing Club, The Parade, Belmont. The cost is $10 which includes morning tea and a light lunch. Carers are invited to wear a Christmas outfit and/or hat on the day. Bookings are essential as places are limited. Please contact EDuCARE ON (02) 4921 4895 to make a booking.
Respite is available for Carers by contacting the Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre on 1800 052 222.
