Work progressing at HealthOne Quirindi
27 May 2010
Construction of the HealthOne Quirindi facility is well underway, and it promises to change the way the local community thinks about healthcare into the future
HealthOne Quirindi will combine General Practice and Community Health services on the one site, working in partnership to provide coordinated care for the local community.
Stage one of the works include the construction of a new building, as well as the refurbishment of certain sections of Quirindi Community Hospital.
The concrete slab and footings of the new building were recently completed, with stage one expected to be complete by November.
HealthOne Quirindi Team Manager Michelle Gallagher welcomed the completion of the new building’s footings and concrete slab.
“A great deal of work has gone into planning the HealthOne Quirindi, so it’s great to see the refurbishments and the new construction start to take shape,” Ms Gallagher said.
HealthOne Quirindi will enable doctors, nursing and allied health staff to work closely together on the one site, adjacent to Quirindi Community Hospital.
Services at HealthOne Quirindi will focus on education, prevention, early diagnosis, better management of chronic conditions and early intervention services.
HealthOne Quirindi has a total construction value of $2.2 million. The three-stage project includes new building works and refurbishments, and is on-track for completion in April 2011.
