Manilla’s invited to MPS design information session
14 September 2009
Manilla district residents are invited to a community information session to learn about the new design of the combined Manilla Multi Purpose Service (MPS) and HealthOne facility this week.
Manilla Health Service Manager Tim Whyte, accompanied by Manilla Local Health Advisory Chair Richard Hagan, will give a presentation on the design, what services will be provided at the new and improved health service and an update on the progress of planning.
The presentation will be made at 10am, Thursday 17 September at Manilla RSL Club during a meeting of the Peel Community Forum on Health. The Forum will also provide morning tea following the one-hour presentation.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to come and hear about the design of their new health service and what it means for the community in real terms,” Mr Whyte said.
“I’ll be talking about the layout of the new facility, what new features will be included, the landscaping and the overall look of the facility. I’ll also explain what a ‘Multi Purpose Service’ and a ‘HealthOne’ facility are.
“It’s also a chance for residents to ask some questions about the new facility, so everyone has a good understanding about what planning has been going on in the past few months and what we’re doing now to work towards the construction phase in 2010.”
Peel Community Forum on Health Chair and Barraba resident Phil Hodges said the Forum was pleased to assist Mr Whyte in letting the Manilla community know just how valuable its new facility will be to the health of the district.
“I’m a member of the Barraba Local Health Advisory Committee and was involved with the Barraba MPS development,” Mr Hodges said.
“Barraba residents have been very pleased with the MPS and the services it has offered for the past five years, so it’s good to see that Manilla will soon be enjoying what an MPS has to offer to communities like ours.”
“We’re also after new Forum members from Manilla, so come along and hear about what’s in store for the new Manilla health service and speak to us about what you can achieve for your local health services by being a part of the Peel Community Forum on Health,” Mr Hodges said.
Please RSVP for catering purposes to Manilla Health Service on (02) 6785 4000.
