Wee Waa Hospital – at the heart of the community.
It has been a busy year for Wee Waa Community Hospital, with staff providing quality health services to the small township, holding educational courses, looking after aged-care clients, giving healthcare access to outreach centres, keeping the community informed about new services, and even entering community fundraising events.
Staff have been kept on their toes and would like to invite the community to attend a public meeting which will celebrate the hard work which has been carried out at the hospital and to discuss the facility’s model of care and services.
Health Service Manager Margaret Constable said staff at Wee Waa Community Hospital are very proud of their work and would like to keep the community informed of services available at the facility.
“The meeting will focus on what we have achieved in the past 12 months, with a number of guest speakers from Hunter New England Health presenting reports on health promotion, current updates on service programs and area-wide activities,” Ms Constable said.
“Because we are a small community, it’s important the public are aware of what services are available to them,” she said.
“Some people just don’t know we have a whole range of community nurses offering primary health care, cardiac rehab, allied health services, and children’s services, just to name a few.
“Our nurses offer a holistic model of care and we are very proud of their achievements,” Ms Constable said.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday 24 March at the Wee Waa Bowling Club at 7.30pm.
Lights refreshments will be served, please RSVP before Friday 20 March on (02) 6795 0400 for catering purposes. (HNE-1783)
