Guyra MPS is calling all busy bees
30 January 2009
Community spirit is alive and well in Guyra, with dozens of volunteers seot to gather at the town’s Multi Purpose Service for a working bee.
The working bee will be held on Monday 2 February, with a number of projects on the to-do list including repairs to the garden’s watering system and the distribution of two truckloads of topsoil.
Organised by the Guyra United Hospital Auxiliary, the working bee is expected to attract a range of volunteers, including representatives from the Veteran golfers’ group Dad’s Army, the Local Health Advisory Committee, and the Guyra Gardening Club.
A barbecue lunch will be held at the conclusion of the event, with community members welcome to offer their help on the day.
Guyra MPS Health Service Manager Tessa Capsanis said the level of community support directed towards the MPS was always genuinely appreciated.
“Many hands make light work, and no matter what the occasion, there always seems to be dedicated community members waiting in the wings to assist the MPS whenever needed,” Ms Capsanis said.
“All community members are welcome to join our happy band of volunteers at the working bee. Come and enjoy some fun, fellowship and meet with others who are keen to see the MPS prosper.”
