Wee Waa Community Health among the best
9 December 2009
The care provided at Wee Waa Community Health Service is among the best of its peers in the state, according to the recently-released NSW Health 2009 Patient Survey.
The results of the 2009 patient survey, which were recently released by the NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Health Carmel Tebbutt, show that Wee Waa Community Health was rated the best of its peers for overall care.
The service scored 100% for ‘Overall Care’ meaning every patient surveyed scored the care as good, very good or excellent.
“This was the best result for overall care among similar sized community health services in the state, so that is very pleasing to know,” Wee Waa Health Service Manager Margaret Constable said.
About 80,000 patients across the state responded to the NSW Health 2009 Patient Survey which asked them to report on their recent experiences of the public health system.
“These results show us clearly that our community is generally satisfied with the care they receive here, which is excellent,” Mrs Constable said.
“I certainly have to congratulate all our staff members, as this goes to show they are not only professional, but offer a friendly environment where patients feel safe and supported.
“It’s good to know the people of Wee Waa, Pilliga, Gwabegar and Burren Junction feel well supported by their health service.”
Mrs Constable said the results can also be attributed to the good relationship between the local health service and the Local Health Advisory Committee and Hospital Auxiliary.
“Our Local Health Advisory Committee plays a big part in making sure we’re listening to our community,” she said.
“They bring to us issues and concerns in the community and we’re able to listen to their feedback and work together to make improvements.
“In addition, the support of the Wee Waa Hospital Auxiliary through their fundraising efforts and volunteer work is vital to helping us provide quality care, so a big thank you must go to all our community volunteers,” Mrs Constable said.
