Roulettes to star at Vegetable Creek fete
15 October 2008
A festive, family-friendly atmosphere will be the order of the day during the upcoming Vegetable Creek Hospital Auxiliary Fete.
The fete, to be held on Saturday 18 October, will be held at the Vegetable Creek Multi Purpose Service (MPS) starting at 10am.
A highlight of the event will be a low level aerobatic display provided by The Roulettes – the Royal Australian Air Force's elite formation aerobatic display team. The Roulettes will fly low over Emmaville’s Moore Street, then over the MPS grounds at about 12.30pm.
The Roulettes will be travelling from the RAAF’s Central Flying School in East Sale, Victoria.
Vegetable Creek Health Service Manager Roseanne Rowe encourages all community members to visit this year’s fete.
“With plenty of activities for people of all ages and interests – and the wonderful aerobatic display provided by the RAAF – the fete will be a real family-pleaser,” Mrs Rowe said.
“It’s also an ideal opportunity for community members to show their support for our dedicated and hard-working hospital auxiliary volunteers.”
Also featured at the fete will be an all-day barbecue and licensed bar, a pet show, a fashion parade by Tenterfield’s Sherelle Fashions, a display by the Ulysses Motor Bike Club, Habibis Belly Dancers, a teddy bear’s picnic, and an aeroplane lolly drop. There will also be performances by a local choir and the Glen Innes Pipers.
There will be dozens of market stalls, as well as ornaments, plants and trees for sale. Also on offer will be show bags, lucky dips, cakes, crafts, food stalls and tea rooms, plus a White Elephant stall and a chocolate wheel. There will also be performances by Emmaville and Deepwater school students.
Proceeds from the day will benefit the Vegetable Creek Hospital Auxiliary.
