Muswellbrook’s awesome foursome

Four Muswellbrook doctors have accumulated over a century of service to the Muswellbrook community.

Dr John Rogers, Dr Robert Taranto, Dr Arthur Adeney and Dr Mark Rikard-Bell have all provided approximately 25 years or more of care to patients at Muswellbrook District Health Service.

Dr John Rogers, who started his career in Muswellbrook 25 years ago, said the group were grateful for being able to make a valuable contribution to the Upper Hunter community.

“I began my career here, have not left, and expect to finish it here.

“We have been able to give a lot to this community over that time, especially during times when there has been a shortage of rural practitioners,” Dr Rogers said.

Setting these rural doctors apart is the fact that all four have worked in anaesthetic and obstetric roles during their outstanding careers.

Acting Upper Hunter Cluster General Manager Dr Debbie Jaggers praised the doctors for the services they had provided and for their commitment to the community.

“Over 25 years of dedicated service, these doctors have demonstrated their commitment to health services in Muswellbrook.

“Dr Rogers, Taranto, Adeney and Rickard-Bell have given so much to the community.

“Their rural understanding and a dedicated commitment to this community has been very valuable,” Dr Jaggers said.

The four doctors also provide services from Brook Medical Centre, Muswellbrook’s only medical centre and winner of the 2006 Practice of the Year Award for NSW and the ACT.

Dr Arthur Adeney retires from his service to the Muswellbrook community at the end of the month.
