Hunter New England Health’s McIntyre Cluster Manager, Lynne Shands was pleased to announced today that negotiations with the Evans Street Surgery has resulted in the Surgery agreeing to trial a visiting service to Ashford starting on 26 September 2007.

“At this stage they are committing to a trial, to see what sort of demand there is for their services in the Ashford community.

“They are planning to rotate doctors for the weekly service which will operate one day a week between 9am and 4pm, with the view to varying these times, up or down, depending on need,” she said.

Appointments should be made by phoning Evans Street Surgery on 6722 2855.

“I am very pleased that we have been able to find a way forward for Ashford, and on behalf of the Ashford community I wish to publicly thank the Evans Street Surgery for their willingness to extend their services to the Ashford community,” she said.
