Remembrance Service planned
The Walcha Multi Purpose Service will host its first Remembrance Service in the grounds of the Elizabeth Crosse Aged Care Facility on Tuesday, 16 October at 2pm.
Walcha MPS Manager Kara Brown said relocation of ashes, remembrance roses and trees that were planted in memory of loved ones at the former hospital site was required when the facility relocated in June.
“These special items are now in their new home in the garden of the aged care facility of the MPS and Hunter New England Health staff would like to welcome the community to share this first service,” Kara said.
Staff, friends and families of past residents are invited to attend the first service to be officiated by the Reverend Rod Chiswell, with the aim to continue these on a monthly basis or as needed.
An afternoon tea will follow.
As this first service is open to all staff, friends and families of past residents, it would be appreciated if an RSVP could be made by Monday 15 October for catering purposes.
