26 October 2007

Moree Mental Health Service would like to congratulate everyone who entered this year’s Mental Health Week Art Competition in Moree.

Of the 37 entries received this year, 12 artworks will be used in a 2008 desk calendar.

Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker for Moree Mental Health Service Sue Bird said the theme of the art competition was ‘Our Community’.

“This was to keep the competition in context with the theme for Mental Health Week this year, which was ‘Relationships in the Community’,” Sue said.

The 37 entries came from Moree Secondary College (Carol Avenue Campus), Moree Christian School, Moree TAFE and from members of the community.

“Each entrant who had their artworks chosen will receive a 2008 desk calendar and be invited to attend the launch of the calendar in December,” Sue said.

“Additional copies can be obtained from Moree Community Health Centre from late December.”

The successful artists were:

  • Emma Botfield
  • Aaron Brady
  • Nathan Campny
  • Hope Duke
  • Brian Duncan
  • Nicole Flack
  • Yvonne French
  • Adam Love
  • Justin Walton
  • Martin Watts
  • Magic Young

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Mental Health Association of NSW for supporting the competition and once again to congratulate all the artists on their work,” Sue said.
