Free off-site parking for visitors to John Hunter Hospital
Hunter New England Health has implemented a trial of free off-site parking for people visiting the Rankin Park campus.
The Rankin Park campus includes the John Hunter Hospital, John Hunter Children’s Hospital, Royal Newcastle Centre, Rankin Park Hospital and the Hunter New England Health Area Administration building.
Between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, members of the public attending appointments or visiting people in any of the hospitals on the campus have the option of parking their car at Energy Australia Stadium and taking advantage of a free shuttle bus service to the hospital.
Hunter New England Health Acting Director Corporate Services Mark Jeffrey said the new service has been implemented as a handy option for outpatients and visitors.
“We acknowledge that it can be difficult to find a car park during peak times,” Mr Jeffrey said.
“The shuttle bus is a convenient alternative because it completes one round trip each hour and drops people off and picks them up right at the front door of the Royal Newcastle Centre.
“It also saves people money in car parking fees.”
A parking attendant is on-site at Energy Australia Stadium to maintain the security of vehicles and provide assistance to people taking advantage of the service.
Further information, including the shuttle bus timetable, is available on the Hunter New England Health website at http://www.hnehealth.nsw.gov.au/ or by phoning InterPark on 4921 4715.
