Music and dance herald Multicultural Health Week 2007
Drama, music and dance will feature at a number of Hunter New England Health sites this week as staff and the community celebrate Multicultural Health Week 2007.
The Director of Hunter New England Health’s Multicultural Health Unit Catherine Norman said the annual event acknowledges the importance of multicultural health and a growing awareness of the diversity of cultures living within our area.

The centrepiece of the Health Service’s celebrations will be a week-long program of events at the Royal Newcastle Centre which will feature performances from acts including:
· Tuesday 1.30pm-2.00pm – Azzurri Italian Choir – Bringing a little ray of sunshine to lunchtime at the Royal.
· Wednesday 12.30pm – 1.00pm – The Art of Calligraphy – to be at one with oneself with every stroke.
· Thursday 12.30-1.00pm - Japanese Tea Ceremony – A way to unwind and cleanse your system; and

According to Ms Norman the enthusiasm of participants and organisers of Multicultural Health Week events this year has been very uplifting.
