Are you interested in health?
Local people interested in undertaking an important role in the health of their community are being invited to join the Maitland Local Health Advisory Committee.
Maitland Hospital General Manager Sandra Platt said the two-year time period for the previous committee is now up and new members were being sought.
The Maitland Local Health Advisory Committee provides valuable input on behalf of the Maitland community to the local health service.
“We need enthusiastic community members who have an interest in health to apply to join the local health advisory committee,” Ms Platt said.
“Committee members have a valuable role to play by providing advice and input to me on the provision of health services in the Maitland region,” she said.
“We are looking for people who have a wide network of local connections and knowledge that can help us foster two-way communication between the health service and the community.”
The Maitland Local Health Advisory Committee provides advice and input to the health service on a range of issues including:
• Health service needs of the local community;
• Development of local health service strategic plans; and
• Local health service delivery
“If you have an interest in health and are keen to become involved, then we invite you to apply for membership on this committee,” Ms Platt said.
Application forms and further information about these positions can be obtained from Sharon Carmody at Maitland Hospital on 49 392 068.
Nominations close on Friday 27 July 2007.
