Barraba health service achievement awards
10 December 2007
The Barraba Health Service and its clients benefit from the outstanding commitment of its staff, volunteers and community every year, and could not deliver its outstanding services without that dedication.
The Barraba Health Service will acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by staff, volunteers and the community at the Barraba Hospital Presentation Ceremony, at the Day Centre at Barraba Hospital on Friday 14 December.
A range of contributions will be honoured during the ceremony including the academic and professional achievements of staff, community donations throughout the year, volunteer training, volunteer of the year and quality awards.
Barraba Health Service Manager Cathy Stein said the Hospital Presentation Ceremony will be a chance for the health service to acknowledge the work of those people who stand out in their commitment to health services in the area, and also an opportunity to invite the community to become familiar with their health service.
“There are staff and community contributors alike who go beyond the call in their contribution to the health service and it is important to formally acknowledge that commitment to ensure they don’t go unnoticed,” Ms Stein said.
“There will be awards for staff achievements, but also for those community members and organisations who generously volunteer their support for the health service.
“This will also be a chance to invite the public into the health service and give them a tour of the facility. Tours will also be conducted through Richardson House. It will be a great opportunity to show them what services and facilities are available right here in Barraba,” said Ms Stein.
The public are welcome to attend the ceremony at the Barraba Hospital Day Centre on 14 December from 2pm, free of charge. An afternoon tea will follow the presentations and at 3.30pm tours of the hospital will be offered to the public.
Media are invited to attend the event. Photograph and interview opportunities will be available with senior health service staff including Director of Operations – Primary and Community Networks Scott McLachlan.
