Aim

To rehearse the management of the acutely unwell or deteriorating patient

Outline

Whether you are the ward nurse caring for the patient whose condition is deteriorating, the doctor called for assistance, or a member of the Rapid Response Team, this course will help prepare you to manage the types of emergencies seen in our hospitals.

Content

This inter-professional team training course:

  • Reinforces the use of a systematic approach to the assessment and management of any patient who may be clinically unstable
  • Provides an opportunity for you to work as part of a team in a role that reflects what you do in your day-to-day work
  • Provides an opportunity for you to practice teamwork skills including coordination of resources, leadership and followership, and speaking up for safety
