Drought Mental Health Initiatives
Earlier this year, Premier Morris Iemma announced funding to improve access to mental health services for people within the farming industry who have been affected by drought. As part of this package, mental health drought worker Barbara Gilmore has been appointed and will be based in Tamworth. Barbara will work closely with the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health and is initiating a number of drought related assistance initiatives throughout the area.
A calendar of events including mental health first aid workshops, service network meetings and farm mental health and wellness gatherings is available for download below.
