2009 Staff Achievement Awards nominees
The Staff Achievement Awards encourage and reward outstanding performance and are open to all individuals and teams from across the Area. These awards are a celebration of the exceptional contribution health service staff have made in their roles and to their communities.
Any Hunter New England Health permanent, casual or temporary staff member, Visiting Medical Officer or volunteer can nominate themselves, or a colleague for an award.
This year we have added a new category, Volunteer/s of the Year, which is designed to recognise and publicly acknowledge the invaluable work done by the thousands of volunteers working with Hunter New England Health.
The categories for the Staff Achievement Awards are:
- Clinical Leader of the Year
- Manager of the Year
- Healthcare Unit of the Year
- Support Unit of the Year
- Outstanding Contribution of the Year
- Tomorrow’s Leader Award
Extended Excellence Award- Volunteer/s of the Year

Nominations for the 2009 Staff Achievement Awards closed on Monday 15 June.
Winners from each of the above categories will be announced at the 2009 Achievement Awards Gala Dinner and celebration on Thursday 10 September 2009 in Newcastle. Attendance at the dinner is primarily reserved for finalists of the Area's Quality Awards and Staff Achievement Awards.
