​Outpatient Service

About Us

​The John Hunter Hospital Outpatient Service provides care to patients who require an examination or treatment, but who are not required to stay in hospital overnight.

Over 500 patients are seen in our clinics each day, with a broad range of services available.

Within the Outpatient Service we have an Outpatient Service Contact Centre. The Contact Centre provides advice and support to callers for the following:

  • ​​​Progress of referrals
  • Booking appointments
  • Cancellation of appointments
  • Rescheduling of appointments
  • Where to send referrals
  • General enquiries relating to the Outpatient Service
  • Post discharge ward referrals
  • Referral liaison.

The John Hunter Hospital Outpatient Service operates clinics across North Block and South Block that cover the following specialties:
