Moree Hospital has an eight-bed maternity ward with two birthing rooms.
Models of care offered
- Aboriginal Maternal & Infant health service provides antenatal/postnatal service and some Intrapartum care to Aboriginal families. The AMIHS service also offers an antenatal and postnatal Clinic for women in Mungindi and Collarenebri
- GP/Midwife Shared Care
- GP/GP Obstetrician Shared Care
- Outreach Specialist High Risk Medical Clinic from John Hunter Hospital - once per month
Visiting hours are flexible but we do ask that women and babies have a rest period between 12pm to 2.30pm
Home maternity service
There is currently no home visiting maternity service for women and their babies who have birthed at Moree however, women may still go home on early discharge with follow up from their GP and Child and Family Health centre.
Birth and parenting classes are held on Mondays at 6pm and run each week for five weeks. Please phone the maternity unit to book into antenatal classes.
