Instructor Training

Simulation based team training requires special expertise in addition to clinical ability.  The HNESSC provides extended instructor training and have well described processes for acquiring and maintainimg certification as an instructor.  Instructors are Specialists (largely from Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine) and senior Nursing Staff (CNS, CNE, Nurse Practitioner) that must be active clinically in their area of specialty and demonstrate aptitude for simulation based teaching.  We also encourage a small number of pre-vocational trainee instructors who have demonstrated interest and skill in this field.
