Arts, Culture and Dining

The Crossing Theatre

In order to provide the community with cultural and artistic activities, the Narrabri Shire Council developed the Crossing Theatre.  The Crossing Theatre cost approximately $6.6 million and was almost entirely locally funded with only $100,000 of funding obtained from the State Government (NSW Ministry of Arts).

The Centre is one of the biggest of its kind in regional New South Wales.  It is a diverse centre that supplies countless benefits to the community.  These include Twin cinema, auditorium/Function Room, Marquee Area & Outdoor Bandstand, Gallery – which houses the Narrabri Shire's Civic Art Collection, containing well renowned painting from artists such as Lloyd Reece, Rupert Richardson, Jean Isherwood, Noel Kilgour and many more and is also used to host other exhibitions, Band Room, Corporate/Conference Facilities and a Café.

Narrabri Art and Craft Society

The Narrabri Art and Craft Society is located in one of Narrabri's earliest residences on Dangar Street. The Art and Craft Society houses a shop, gallery and studio complex where visitors can view that handiwork of local craftspeop
