Inverell District Hospital is a 52-bed facility which provides acute care, emergency care and maternity services for the North-Western and New England communities of NSW. Other services include surgical, paediatric, outpatients, and renal dialysis. There is also a Community Health Centre on campus which provides primary health care, as well as an extensive range of allied health services.
Other services include Respiratory and Diabetic Specialist Nurses, Blood Bank, Drug & Alcohol, Cardiac Rehab, Dental Services, Mental Health, Podiatry, Diversional Therapy, Needle Exchange Program, Oncology and Palliative Care in Community, PANOC, Social Worker, Pathology, Speech Pathology, Dietitian, General Physicians and general surgery. Specialist VMOs include: Geriatrician, Audiologist, Nephrologist, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, and an Urologist.
A comprehensive range of medical services are available to the Inverell community. There are a number of GPs supported by a range of specialist medical services including visiting specialists, pathology services and a radiography practice capable of CT Scans, Ultrasound and General X-rays.
Tingha Hospital located 25 km southwest from Inverell, is also a unit of Hunter New England Health. It is a 'Schedule II Public Hospital' with a capacity of 10 beds. The hospital provides general nursing care for aged residents. One permanent single unit is kept specifically for nursing home type respite care. Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day. Community Health staff is provided to help with any concerns or problems in Inverell, Ashford, Bundarra and Tingha.
Hours of operation: The Inverell Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Normal business hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Visiting hours: Wards and Maternity - 10:00am - 12:00pm then 3:00pm - 8:00pm

Disabled access: The Inverell Health Service is fully-accessible for visitors with a disability. Disabled parking is available at all entrances.
Auxiliary services & volunteers: The Inverell Health Service is assisted by many volunteers working with the United Hospitals Auxiliary; the Diversional Therapy Group; Ward Assistants & Care Group; Pastoral Care visitors; Breast Cancer Support Group; the Fundraising committee; Pink Ladies; and the Australasian Red Cross Blood Bank volunteers.
