District Health Service
Gunnedah Hospital is a 48-bed community acute facility with services in obstetrics and surgery. It offers a wide range of services including cardiac rehabilitation, community nursing, child and family health, mental health, drug and alcohol counselling, palliative care, rehabilitation and therapy services, speech pathology as well as many other visiting services. The Health Service also provides public dental, dental therapy services and physiotherapy.
Hours of operation: 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year. Business hours are 8am – 5pm weekdays
Visiting hours: Parents/guardians of children - anytime, other visitors - 11:00am - 8:00pm. Maternity - Husbands/partners can visit anytime. Mothers rest period from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
Parking: Parking available via Marquis Street and Anzac Parade entrances.
Disabled access: Designated disabled parking near the Emergency Department entrance. There are ramps into the main entrance to Administration and to the Emergency Department entrance.
Community Health Centre
The centre is located on the grounds of the Gunnedah District Health Service offers a range of community based health services. These include Aboriginal health education, Aboriginal antenatal clinic, Aboriginal maternity service, after hours and home nursing, aged care, audiometry, cardiac rehabilitation, clinical psychology, counselling, diabetic care, dietetics, drug and alcohol services, early childhood services, foot care/podiatry, health education and promotion, home modifications, Immunisation clinic, Mental Health, (adult and child & adolescent), occupational therapy, palliative care, psychiatry, school-based programs, sexual assault counselling, social work, speech pathology and women's health.
Hours of Operation: 8am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. There is a limited visiting nursing service on weekends.
Parking: Free parking is available via Marquis Street entrance.
Disabled Access: The centre is fully accessible for visitors with a disability.
